Green Office Certification Program

Advancing Sustainability

Sustainability is a core priority at ÍøÆغÚÁÏ. Every office and individual can contribute to this goal by adopting the sustainable practices outlined in the Green Office Program. This certification provides a clear framework to help reduce your office’s environmental impact, use resources more efficiently, and create a healthier, more sustainable workplace for faculty and staff. Designed with flexibility in mind, the program can be scaled to fit any office, whether it is a single-person space or a department that serves the entire campus.

Certified Green Office

The offices listed below have earned Green Office certification. Each certification level reflects the scope of their efforts and the positive impact they have on both the campus and the wider environment. Certified offices have taken meaningful actions in support of environmental stewardship, economic responsibility, and social equity. Many of these actions also ensure alignment with State and SUNY sustainability requirements.

Green Office Initiatives

Late Nite: Campus Activities
Bulk purchasing of sustainably sourced paper products for student events. By serving hundreds of students weekly, the office reduces costs, supports green supply chains, and lessens strain on local landfills.

Division of Advising and Academic Excellence: Decker College
Adopting walking meetings, both scheduled and informal, around the Decker School of Nursing parking lot. This practice encourages healthy habits, fosters connection to the outdoors, and reduces energy use from indoor spaces.

Sodexo Sustainability Manager’s Office
Maintaining a dedicated wall for the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Each goal is represented by a poster, and interns add their names and projects to the relevant goal upon completion. This both showcases accomplishments and highlights areas for continued sustainability focus.
