ÍøÆغÚÁÏ School of Pharmacy FAQs: Everything You Need to Know
Get clear answers about our PharmD program, dual degrees, clinical experiences, research opportunities, scholarships, residency match rates, and more. This page is your go-to resource for applying, planning, and succeeding at one of New York’s top pharmacy schools.
Q: What makes ÍøÆغÚÁÏ’s School of Pharmacy stand out?
A: Three areas that make our school standout against other pharmacy schools are our state-of-the-art facilities, our high residency match rate of 79%, and our job placement rate of 86%, with both being the highest in New York state in their respective categories. Our school’s skills and simulation labs give our students hands-on experience in a pharmacy setting, as well as face-to-face training with volunteers from our community. These activities help our students find their footing in what it is like to be a pharmacist and then apply the training once they start their rotations off campus.
Q: What degree programs are available?
A: We offer a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program, as well as dual-degree options including PharmD/MBA and PharmD/MPH, giving students the opportunity to specialize and lead in health care, business, or public health. We also offer PhD and MS degrees and recently started a Pharmacy Technician Program microcredential. Learn more about our programs.
Q: What is the average class size in ÍøÆغÚÁÏ’s Pharmacy program?
A: Class sizes vary from year to year, but our average graduating class size in the PharmD program is 72 students.

A: There are several research opportunities for students at our school. Many of our faculty conduct their research on-site and welcome students to train and learn under them. Our school also requires our P4 (fourth year) students to complete a Capstone Research Project before graduation. This allows our students to dive into an area of pharmacy their interested in, conduct and record their research over a year, and present their findings to the school at the end of the year.
Q: What types of clinical experiences will I get?
A: Clinical experience is a large part of our school’s effort in training the next generation of pharmacists. Through our Office of Experiential Education, we will help you find a pharmacy site, whether in a hospital or retail setting, where you will spend months training, working and learning from experienced pharmacists already in the field. It’s all about giving you as much experience as possible to prepare you for after you leave our school.
Q: Where is the School of Pharmacy located?
A: Our school is housed in a modern facility on ÍøÆغÚÁÏ’s Health Sciences Campus in Johnson City, part of a growing medical district just minutes from the main campus.
